Excellent points. But there are ways to work around some of these issues. It's probably not going to be possible to distinguish "real" content from content generated by a chatbot, but at the same time people who have their reputations on the line will at least avoid complete fabrications that are provably false. DNS and bitcoin are examples of using cryptography to sign identity. I imagine that something similar will be used eventually to distinguish people who are creating content with genuine intent, who are willing to back their content with their reputation, versus those who are weaponizing these new tools.
